Breast Cancer Now

Unsurvivors

Secondary breast cancer can be treated, but it can't be cured. Yet people living with the disease aren’t getting the support they need. Breast Cancer Now asked us to come up with a campaign that would raise awareness of the reality of living with secondary breast cancer and the need for change.

Problem

Secondary breast cancer can be treated, but it can't be cured. Yet people living with the disease aren’t getting the support they need. There is a lack of access to specialist nurses and treatments. Breast Cancer Now were looking to develop a bold campaign to increase understanding of secondary breast cancer and achieve policy change that improves support and access to treatments.

Solution

‘Unsurvivors’ is a hard-hitting campaign showing the reality of living with secondary breast cancer. It features the women we worked closely with and captures their spirit and determination to influence change. The campaign also brings out the urgency of the issue through the messaging, “until we’re seen, until we’re heard, until things change.”

Impact

The campaign launched on 11 October to coincide with Secondary Breast Cancer Awareness Day (13th) and so far has gathered close to15,000 signatures.
